US Launches Reciprocal Tariffs, Targets Indonesia with 32% Duty

President Donald Trump enforces US reciprocal tariffs to rebalance global trade flows and correct practices that have contributed to the country’s large and persistent trade deficit. The tariffs are implemented in two phases: a general 10% tariff starting on Saturday, April 5, 2025, and special country-specific tariffs—targeting 50 nations—beginning on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Note:
The reciprocal tariff is applied on an ad valorem basis—calculated as a percentage of the import’s value—and is imposed in addition to existing customs duties, fees, taxes, levies, or any other charges applicable to the imported goods.
