In our analysis of responses from 1,214 school districts to Texas Education Agency's Safe and Supportive Schools questionnaire, we found that 84 percent of school districts have threat assessment teams serving all campuses, 55 percent of districts have teams with all required experts, one-third of districts have team members who have all been trained, one third of districts trained all pertinent staff in threat assessment protocols, 14 percent of districts provided assessment and intervention for all related disciplinary actions, and half of districts provided assessment and interventions for students expelled for concerning behaviors.
