Statewide SAT scores have steadily dropped since 2017

Illinois implemented the SAT in 2017 to assess 11th grade proficiency in reading and math, and the average score statewide has steadily declined since then, dropping 25.1 points in reading and 30.6 points in math.  

Data is not available for 2020 due to interruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent school closures and test cancellations.
