Oakland's violent crime rate increased in 2020 to 1,330 violent crimes per 100K residents from 1,306 violent crimes in 2019 and 1,299 in 2018. However, violent crime has gone down in the city since peaks including 1,964 violent crimes per 100K residents in 2013, and 2,045 violent crimes in 2008.
