Oregon home ownership rates
Home ownership rates vary widely by race and ethnicity in Oregon. State lawmakers are considering proposals to promote home ownership among demographic groups that were historically denied mortgages and prevented from purchasing homes in many neighborhoods.
Oregon's home ownership rate for white people was estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau to be 66% in 2019, and the home ownership rate for Latino people was 46%. The home ownership rate for Black people in 2019 was estimated at 37% and the rate among Asian people was 62%. The home ownership rate was 48% for Native Americans in Oregon and it was 47% for Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, according to the census estimate.
