As of Oct. 23, epizootic hemorrhagic disease, or EHD, has been reported in tissue samples from deer in 18 West Virginia counties, according to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
Eighteen counties are shaded orange, indicating deer in these counties tested positive for epizootic hemorrhagic disease: Barbour, Boone, Hardy, Harrison, Jefferson, Kanawha, Logan, Marion, Marshall, Mineral, Monongalia, Ohio, Pleasants, Putnam, Ritchie, Taylor, Tyler and Upshur counties. They are primarily clustered in the northern and southwestern regions of the state. All other counties are shaded gray, meaning no deer have tested positive for EHD yet. Some counties are still awaiting results on their tissue samples.
