The chart below displays where the most disasters occurred between 2011 and 2021. Major federal climate disasters, according to the Stafford Act, include hurricanes, tornadoes, storms, high water, wind-driven water, tidal waves, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, mudslides, snowstorms, droughts, fires, floods and explosions.
