MU research expenditures
The University of Missouri nearly doubled its research expenditures over the past 10 years, with the steepest growth coming in the last five years. MU officials credit the Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health facility and related research programs for accelerating much of the recent growth. NextGen opened in 2021.
A chart shows MU research expenditures since 2015. MU research expenditures have increased drastically over the past deacade. In 2014, MU spent $237.3 million on research. In 2023, MU spent $462.4 million on research, an increase of $225.1 million over a ten year period.
