The 5th Edition of the AASHTO Bike Guide released in December 2024 includes guidance on protected bike lanes. Survey data from summer 2024 shows that 31 states reported having guidance on protected bike lanes and 26 reported sponsoring at least one training on how to design protected bike lanes.
