Small Rebound in Philly’s Pandemic Pop. Decline

Philadelphia added around 1,500 residents in 2025, and around 7,000 in 2024. Those increases are a small reversal from four years of pandemic-fueled population losses, which peaked in 2022 when the city's population fell by almost 18,000 residents. In 2025 the city had roughly 26,000 fewer residents than in 2020.
