These are the top 30 destinations for people leaving a capital city for somewhere else in Australia (2011-2016)

The percentages are from a total of all people who were living in a capital city in 2011 but had moved to a non-capital city SA4 region by 2016. 'Capital city' is defined by Greater Capital City Statistical Areas (GCCSA) regions defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS). Some common destinations are excluded due to GCCSA classification. For example, Logan is considered part of Brisbane and NSW Central Coast is considered part of Sydney under the GCCSA. The entirety of the ACT is also considered a capital city under GCCSA.
