The Origin Countries of Foreign Fighters Joining Armed Groups in Iraq and Syria

This map, based on data from The Soufan Group, shows the estimated number of foreign fighters from selected countries flocking to join militant groups such as the Islamic State (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria. It includes the 6,000 fighters from Tunisia, 2,500 from Saudi Arabia and 2,400 from Russia.
