The percentage of students testing proficient or better on Minnesota's standardized math test is down 5 percentage points since 2016. Scores are down among every large student group.
2019 proficiency rates for additional subgroups: 29 percent English learner; 30.8 percent special education; 25.9 percent American Indian; 45.4 percent Hawaiian / Pacific Islander. Grades tested are 3-8 and 11. Students who opt out of testing are counted as not proficient.
