Voter participation at federal elections, 2004-2025

"Turnout" refers to the proportion of enrolled voters who cast a vote. "Participation" refers to the proportion of the voting-eligible population who cast a vote. Turnout has dropped because the roll is more complete, but participation rose in 2025. "Effective participation" is the proportion eligible population who cast a formal vote.
