To reduce vehicle emissions that contribute to air pollution, Colorado is considering adopting California's Zero Emission Vehicle mandate, which would require automakers to offer more electric vehicles in the state. Automakers would need to sell a certain number of EV's based on California's EV credit system, which awards more credits to EVs with longer range. Converted into a percent minimum per fleet, the ZEV goal for Colorado would start at 4.85% for automakers in 2023, according to data from the Colorado Air Pollution Control Division.
