Severe Heat Stress Will Continue to Damage Coral Reefs, and at Higher Rates

Starting in the 2040s, the vast majority of coral reefs are expected to face severe heat stress at least ten times per decade. Scientists project that nearly all reefs will experience annual severe bleaching by the end of the century.
