Concentration of manufacturing employment by county, Q3 2022

A Location Quotient (LQ) measures how dominant one industry is in a particular area relative to the national average. Since the share of national employment in manufacturing is 8%, a county with 8% of its workers in manufacturing will have a 1.0 LQ, one with 16% an LQ of 2.0, etc.
