It's cheaper to live in Florida, but not significantly

Californians and Floridians both pay a premium for the basics — the fourth-highest and 14th-highest cost of living in the country, respectively. The average Florida resident spent about 8% less last year on housing, utilities, health care, food and gasoline than the average California resident.
