Pressure on IPS enrollment over time

Indianapolis Public Schools lost over 2,000 students between 2019-20 and 2020-21. Enrollment at independent charter schools, meanwhile, grew. The number of students who live within IPS borders who use vouchers to attend private school has also increased in recent years.

Data does not include Innovation Network charter schools, which are considered a part of IPS but counted separately in state records.
