Those with disabilities were much more likely to have public health insurance and slightly less likely to be uninsured.
Adults who reported any activity limitation, including "some difficulty," are classified as disabled. "Private" refers to any comprehensive private insurance plan. "Medicaid and Other Public" includes Medicaid and other state-sponsored health plans including CHIP. "Other" includes Medicare, military coverage, and other forms of government insurance. "Uninsured" includes those with only Indian Health Service coverage or limited plans that pay for one type of service such as accidents or dental care, in addition to those without any form of health insurance.
