Many countries or parts of countries have received Temporary Protected Status since 1990

As of June 2024, 16 countries were designated for Temporary Protected Status. Another 12 countries or parts of countries have had TPS in the past that is now terminated. TPS designations last for six, 12 or 18 months, and can be extended by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
