2024 MBA Pay: South

The south shall rise again? Well, the region seems pretty energized already, home to fast-growing economic powers like Charlotte, Atlanta, Nashville, Miami, and Orlando – not to mention iconic companies like Coca-Cola, Bank of America, Home Depot, Hertz, and FedEx. Pay-wise, Stanford, Wharton, and Harvard MBAs land the biggest paychecks here. In fact, the Wharton School placed 214 graduates in the South last summer – 7.5 times the number of Stanford and Harvard MBAs combined! Among southern schools, a Vanderbilt University Owen grad received the best pay starting out at $146,911, followed by Georgia Tech’s Scheller College ($141,786) and the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler School ($140,355). That said, a Scheller grad claimed the highest individual package in the region at $312,000 – or nearly $100,000 more than Harvard’s best.
