Health spending by and on behalf of families with employer coverage, 2024
Out-of-pocket family spending reflects the average cost sharing incurred by a policyholder, a spouse, and two dependent children under age 26. Spending amounts are adjusted from 2023 to 2024. Average employer and worker contributions are based on KFF’s Employer Health Benefits Survey and represent the average cost for covered workers to enroll in family coverage.
