2017: Tories lose 20-point lead in final hour

With Theresa May at the helm, the Tories just scraped by with a 2.3% lead in popular vote. The final month pre-election saw Labour climb up the polls at astonishing speed.

Election held on June 8th 2017. Conservatives: 317 seats and 42.3% of the vote. Labour: 262 seats and 40.0% of the vote. Lib Dems: 12 seats and 7.4% of the vote.
