59 percent of Chicagoans are Black or Latinx, but since the beginning of the city's vaccination campaign, their combined share of first doses has never reached parity. The closest the groups came was the last week of February, when together, Black and Latinx Chicagoans received 54 percent of the city's first doses. White Chicagoans, who make up 33 percent of the city's population, have received a disproportionate share of first doses every week but two since the campaign started here.
