Contributions from dark money groups & shell companies soar

Shell companies and dark money groups poured over $162.4 million into federal political contributions in 2023, up from $106.2 million at this point in the 2022 cycle and $66.6 million in the 2020 cycle -- putting 2024 elections on track for a new record.
