Hospitals self-report the number of people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, so how many report on any given day can affect that day's total. From Friday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 7, NCDHHS experienced continued technical and submission issues with hospital systems data, which were exacerbated by the holiday weekend, resulting in incomplete hospitalization data. Because of this, it is likely that actual hospital numbers for Sept. 4-7 are higher than what is shown. 86% of hospitals reported for Sept. 8.
