Nebraska voters in November 2024 largely rejected Legislative Bill 1402, passed earlier the same year, to appropriate $10 million annually to offset attendance costs at private K-12 schools. In the state's 49 legislative districts, a majority of voters in four districts voted to retain the law while most Nebraskans voted to repeal LB 1402 by approaving Referendum Measure 435 statewide. It passed with about 57% support.
