Housing needs in Fresno County

A state-mandated analysis of unmet housing needs across Fresno County indicates that at least 58,000 additional units (homes, condos, apartments) are required to meet the needs of residents across all income levels by 2031. The state Department of Housing and Community Development issued its determination in late 2021 setting forth the regional housing needs for which Fresno County must plan to accommodate. The Fresno Council of Governments then allocated those needs across each of the county's 15 cities plus the unincorporated areas of Fresno County.
