Bars in grey indicate approximate figures, as the Department does not provide exact figures less than 5 (or figures that will reveal figures less than 5), for privacy reasons. The number 'found to be refugees by regional processing country' is misleading, as people transferred during this period returned to Australia before refugee status determination procedures were established in regional processing countries. Less than five IMAs are located in Australia - other location. The table excludes less than five returns to a third country and excludes babies born onshore who were not transferred to a regional processing country. The information is based on the regional processing country a person initially transferred to and does not reflect transfers between Nauru and PNG or returns from Australia to a different regional processing country. The first transfer to a regional processing country occurred on 14 September 2012 to Nauru.
