Notes: Personal income data are reported by calendar year by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Tax collections exclude federal aid, user charges, and miscellaneous general revenue. Because most of Alaska's revenue is derived from the taxation of oil production and oil company income, the recent figures overstate the actual tax collected from state residents. This is true to a lesser extend of other states with strong severance tax collections.
