Top allies and top threats

Here’s what people from different countries perceive to be their own’s top ally and top threat (by share of responses), according to a recent global survey.

The differences between several most and second-most named responses were not statistically significant: [1] 23% of respondents from Hungary named the U.S. as a top ally. [2] 33% of respondents from Kenya named China as a top ally. [3] 30% of respondents from Nigeria named the U.S. as a top ally. [4] 17% of respondents from Spain named France as a top ally. [5] 23% of respondents from Kenya named the U.S. as a top threat. [6] 26% of respondents from Spain named Russia as a top threat.
