2023 MBA Pay: Mid-Atlantic

The Mid-Atlantic features two major metros in Philadelphia and Washington, DC – but not much else beyond Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Not surprisingly, 22 of the Top 50 business schools didn’t place enough MBA graduates here in 2023 to even post a number. And the top performer – Stanford GSB at a $185,800 average – saw just five students move to the Mid-Atlantic. That wasn’t the case with the Wharton School. Again the runner-up to Stanford GSB, Wharton placed 44 grads in the region to the tune of $179,693 in base on average (a $12,639 improvement). As a whole, there were 11 business schools that produced a graduate who earned $200,000 or more in base starting out in the Mid-Atlantic. This number included a graduate from 41st-ranked Maryland Smith (with a graduate from William & Mary Mason and Notre Dame Mendoza each fetching $190,000 to start).
