Nonin pulse oximeters outperform others

The Open Oximetry project at the University of California, San Francisco, tracks and tests pulse oximeters. Nonin Medical's device tends to perform better than other options, which is also reflected in a 2024 study with a limited sample population out of the Bay Area university.

ARMS is a common measure of pulse oximeter performance combining bias and precision; Lower readings represent better performance, and the FDA sets an ARMS standard of <3% for approved devices.
