Older LGB+ individuals face highest risk of suicide
The suicide rate goes up exponentially with age among older gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals, with people becoming more at risk of suicide compared to heterosexual population as they get older.
The 45-64 age group is most at risk, with 67 suicides per 100,000 people in 2021-23.
