Disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black Americans 

African Americans account for almost one-quarter of COVID-19 deaths in the United States. Data from states show Black people are regularly overrepresented compared to their share of the population.

Data collected through July 1. Population proportions are weighted to reflect the population distribution of the areas experiencing the greatest number of COVID-19 deaths.
