From 2020 to 2024, there were a total of 31,602 drivers under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication involved in fatal crashes. The accompanying table details these drivers by year, population, and fatality involvement rate. In 2021, both the total (6,949) and fatality involvement rate (2.09) reached their highest levels.
