Cities are eliminating minimum parking requirements
These mandates – such as the creation of one parking spot for every new unit of housing that's built – have been a core feature of urban planning since the mid-20th century. But many of these requirements are being repealed as policymakers seek to prioritize pedestrians and the housing shortage over cars.
