The chart shows horizontal bars, one for each year between 2019 and 2023. The first portion of the bar is dark blue, and shows the number of homicides between January and the end of June. The second portion of the bars are light blue, and show homicides in July through the end of December. For 2019, there were 53 homicides in the first half of the year and 53 in the second half. For 2020, there were 55 homicides in the first half of the year and 92 for the rest of the year. In 2021, there were 62 in the first half and 81 in the second half. In 2022 there were 83 in the first half of the year and 82 in the second half. In 2023, there have been 55 homicides as of June 30.
