L.A. County teachers struggle with low wages and high costs of living

To cope with high costs of living in some L.A. County school districts, many teachers endure long commutes to districts that pay less but cost less to live in. Additionally, less-resourced--many with majority Black and Latine student populations-- districts lose teachers to wealthier districts that can offer more competitive salaries.
