Third-grade reading gains and losses

Some districts saw big gains in reading this year, while others fell further behind. The map below shows the difference in the percentage of third graders reading on or above grade level from the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years.

Note: 2023-24 scores have not been adjusted to the current cut score of 444. District boundaries are from 2022 Census and do not include Orange Beach City Schools. 100% of third graders in the district met reading benchmarks both years.
