An assessment of the biomedical literature found that researchers in the United States were the most likely to publish novel science in 2015–2016. The US received a score of 108, which means that its researchers are 8% more likely to pursue novel work than the average in the field. South Korea has made huge gains since the 1990s, coming in second.
