Deaths among homeless people in Multnomah County

The data represented in this chart comes from death certificates and Multnomah County Medical Examiner investigations. Accidental and violent deaths, including deaths due to overdose, are recorded by the medical examiner. Deaths due to disease or other natural causes come from death certificates, on which the state has mandated inclusion of housing status since Jan. 1, 2022.
