CMS Overall Quality Star Ratings for CT Nursing Homes

Nearly a quarter of the state's nursing homes had a 1-star CMS quality rating as of February 2023, up from only 8% in January 2020.

1. The data for 2020 and 2022 come from a July 2022 report from the Department of Social Services titled "Report on Connecticut Nursing Home Rebalancing & Efficiency Plans." 2. The data for 2023 comes from the CMS Provider Information Database, but only includes nursing homes in the February 2023 "Connecticut Nursing Facility Census Report," except for Grandview Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, which has a 0-star rating due to "a history of serious quality issues" and Westport Rehab Complex, which does not appear in CMS data.
