Q: The Australian Republic Movement has recently released its suggested model for becoming a republic. This would involve each state and territory’s parliament, plus the Federal Parliament, nominating a shortlist of appropriate candidates before the public getting a chance to vote for which one becomes the Head of State. This voting process would replace the current system of the UK’s monarch automatically being Australia’s Head of State. Adoption of this system would require a national vote, or referendum.
If that vote were held today, would you vote YES for Australia to become a republic or NO against Australia becoming a republic?
