Which states will be the oldest states by 2100?

Maine on track to have the highest percentage of its population over 65 years of age by 2100.

To project the future percentage of the population aged 65 and older, we built upon the foundational work of the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at University of Virginia, which projected population ages by state through 2040 using the Hamilton-Perry method.
