AA Degree-Seeking Students’ Perceptions Regarding Attainment of Social and Behavioral Sciences Discipline-Level Competencies
This grouped bar chart displays AA degree-seeking students' perceptions of their attainment of Social and Behavioral Sciences discipline-level competencies across four outcomes (SS-1 through SS-4) for academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24, measured on a 5-point scale where 5 = very much and 1 = none.
Student perceptions remain consistently high across both years and all four competencies, ranging from 4.00 to 4.10 on the 5-point scale. Between the two years, SS-1 shows a slight decline from 4.10 to 4.00, while SS-2 decreases marginally from 4.07 to 4.01. In contrast, SS-3 improves slightly from 4.06 to 4.09, and SS-4 shows minimal change, declining from 4.09 to 4.08. Despite these small year-to-year fluctuations, all ratings remain tightly clustered around 4.0, indicating stable and strong student confidence in achieving these competencies. The minimal overall variation—never exceeding 0.10 points—suggests consistent performance across outcomes and years. This measure was discontinued in 2024-25 due to the college's transition to new survey software.
