Major U.S. Cities by Wedding Cost Index

This table ranks 110 analyzed U.S. cities by the Wedding Cost Index, a 0-100 composite score calculated from 19 wedding-related cost metrics. Higher scores indicate higher wedding-cost pressure. To keep the table useful for comparison, only cities with at least two of the three dollar benchmark fields available are shown. Cities with the same displayed index score share the same rank. Ranking applies to this table only.

¹Wedding Cost Index is based on 19 wedding-cost-related metrics for each state, including venue pricing, catering, bar service, florals, décor, rentals, photography, videography, DJ and band costs, hair and makeup services, restaurant prices, alcohol costs, and taxi costs.
²Cost Pressure: Indicates how expensive a market is for weddings.
³Est. Reception Cost: Estimated core reception cost based on a six-hour venue rental, catering cost, and bar-service cost.
⁴Est. Vendor Services Cost: Estimated cost of major non-reception vendors, including florals, décor, rentals, photography, videography, DJ, wedding band, hair, and makeup.
⁵Est. Guest Weekend Cost: Estimated guest-facing cost based on one casual meal, half of a mid-range dinner for two, one beer, a quarter bottle of wine, and a roughly 3-mile taxi ride at the local rate.
