Children make up most Medicaid enrollees in Nebraska

Out of the more than 400,000 people enrolled in Nebraska Medicaid in fiscal year 2025, nearly half were children.

Expansion refers to Nebraska residents who qualified for Medicaid after Initiative 427 passed in 2018. The initiative expanded coverage to Nebraskans under 65 whose income is at or below 138% of the federal poverty level.
