Low-income scholarship students more proficient than low-income public school peers

Among students in grades 3-8, scholarship recipients were more proficient in reading and math on the 2023 Illinois Assessment of Readiness than the average for low-income Illinois public school students. The average proficiency for all Illinois public students is highest.

Note: The Illinois State Board of Education defines "low-income" differently than the Invest in Kids Tax-Credit Scholarship defines "low-income" for a student to receive a scholarship.
